Back in 2004, I was attending a VON conference during the baseball playoffs. When the Sox won, the resultant jubilation of some Bostonians spilled out into a full fledged riot, complete with smashed signs, turned over cars. The police in riot gear pushed the crowds back and regained control. There was one unfortunate fatality Victoria Snelgrove caused by the misuse of a new supposedly less-lethal gun. The video was taken in the Kenmore Squarearea from my 5th floor room in the Buckminster Hotel (see view below) facing north and was shot using my Canon A75 (a poor choice, but all I had). The crowds started gathering soon after the end of the game, and the rioting continued well through the night. |
